End-of-Availability (EOA) Notice

On-Server versions of SteelApp Web Accelerator products

For Internal and Partner release Novermber 24, 2014

1. Announcement Summary 

Riverbed Technology hereby announces the End-of-Availability of the following on-server versions of the SteelApp Web Accelerator (formerly known as Stingray Aptimizer) products. 

These products will no longer be available for sale as of February 25, 2015. Customers and partners may continue to order these products from Riverbed through February 24, 2015. Customers may continue to order Riverbed support services, on these products, subject to Riverbed’s end-of-support policy located at: www.riverbed.com/supportpolicy

Table 1 identifies the relevant dates for end-of-availability and end-of-support:

2. Migration Plan

The on-server products are being discontinued in favor of the Web Accelerator Proxy (SKUs starting with SPX) and Web Accelerator Add-On (SKUs starting with STX) for SteelApp Traffic Manager products. Customers and partners can continue to order the SteelApp Web Accelerator Add-On for SteelApp Traffic Manager and the SteelApp Web Accelerator Proxy products from Riverbed. All new feature development will be done on these products. For newer product features existing customers should migrate to these alternate products.

For customers who have ordered the on-server versions of the SteelApp Web Accelerator, Riverbed will offer the SteelApp Traffic Manager with SteelApp Web Accelerator Add-On (SKUs starting with STX) and the SteelApp Traffic Manager (SKUs starting with STM) through a SteelApp Web Accelerator Trade Up program. Customers would have to buy the associated support for these products offered as part of the Trade Up. Please get in touch with Riverbed Sales or Support for additional information regarding the Trade Up program.
