Configuring System Settings
System settings enable you to:
create announcements that appear on the appliance’s Management Console login screen, or on the console’s dashboard page. See About announcements.
enable and disable alarms. See About alarms.
configure astronomical clock settings, add and monitor Network Time Protocol (NTP) servers, and configure NTP authentication settings. See About date and time.
add and remove monitored ports. See About monitored ports.
enable Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) message trapping, add trap receivers, and test trap settings. See About SNMP settings.
create SNMP v3 user-based security model users. See About SNMPv3 user authentication.
configure SNMP access control lists (ACLs). See About SNMP ACLs.
configure administrator email settings, and enable or disable automatic transmission of system failure reports to Riverbed Support. See About email notifications.
configure log message settings, create process-based log filters, configure remote log servers, and manually rotate logs. See About local and remote logging.
change the appliance’s service port, configure the controller to remove inactive endpoints after a specified duration, and add adapters to the system. See About advanced settings.
change your password, and restore your user preferences to their default values. See About My Account settings.
name and save the current system configuration, revert the system to the previous configuration or to a named, saved configuration. See About appliance configurations.
