Viewing SteelHeads Report
The SteelHeads report provides the connection status of the pool of SteelHeads for which the SteelHead Interceptor monitors and load balances.
For details about configuring SteelHeads, see Configuring Interceptor-to-SteelHead Communication.
What This Report Tells You
The SteelHeads report answers the following questions:
•  What software version is running on the cluster SteelHead?
•  What are the endpoints (IP addresses and ports) of the local and configured SteelHeads in the network connection?
•  What is the current connection status?
•  What is the maximum number of current optimized connections to the cluster SteelHead?
•  When did the cluster SteelHeads last connect?
To display the SteelHeads report
•  Display the SteelHeads page.
The location of the SteelHeads page depends on whether the SteelHead Interceptor is running in standard mode or VLAN segregation mode:
•  Standard mode - Choose Networking > Network Services: SteelHeads to display the SteelHeads page.
•  VLAN segregation mode - SteelHeads are configured on a per-instance basis. From the instance dashboard, choose SteelHeads in the Networking section of the navigation bar. For more information about the options on the instance dashboard, see Instance Dashboard in VLAN Segregation Mode.

The report provides the following basic information about cluster SteelHead connections.
Field
Descriptions
Version
Displays the current software version.
Control State
Displays the current control state: Connected, Handshake, Connecting, Resyncing, or Incompatible.
Contacted at
Displays a time-stamp for the last reconnection with the cluster SteelHead.
Optimized Connections
Displays the number of optimized connections directed to the SteelHead from the SteelHead Interceptor.
Service Connections
Displays the number of service connections.
Admission Control
Displays the connection limit specified for the SteelHead.
Pressure
Displays the pressure value of the specified SteelHead. For details about pressure, see Enabling Pressure Monitoring.
Note: A value of N/A indicates that pressure monitoring is not enabled.
Capacity Adjustment
Displays the capacity adjustment setting currently imposed on the specified SteelHead, based on the pressures value.
For the Pressure Monitoring feature to affect load balancing, it must enabled in conjunction with the Fair Peering v2 feature. For details, see Enabling Pressure Monitoring.
SteelHead Interfaces
Displays information about the interface for the selected appliance:
Displays the following information about the interfaces through which the appliance communicates:
•  Local - Local IP address and port on this SteelHead Interceptor
•  Remote - IP address and port of the configured SteelHead
•  Contact - Displays an icon that indicates that the current state of the connection between this SteelHead Interceptor and the selected cluster SteelHead Interceptor. The icon represents one of the following connection states:
–  Active - The selected cluster SteelHead Interceptor is currently redirecting connections.
–  Connected - The selected cluster SteelHead Interceptor is able to redirect connections.
–  Connecting - The selected cluster SteelHead Interceptor is in the process of establishing a connection with the cluster appliance.
–  Resyncing - The selected cluster SteelHead Interceptor is resynchronizing.
–  Disconnected - The SteelHead Interceptor is not connected to a cluster SteelHead for which a connection has been configured.
