Getting started with dashboards

The NetProfiler is shipped with several dashboards set up by default. These are listed in the Dashboards navigation panel on the left side of the page. When you log into NetProfiler using your account, the default and private dashboards are listed under "My Dashboards" folder. Dashboards that were shared with you are listed under the "Shared with Me" folder. Dashboards that are accessible by all users are located under the "Public Dashboards".

Dashboards that are private to your user account are indicated by an icon representing a single person. Dashboards that you make public for all users are indicated by an icon representing a group of people. Click any dashboard listed in the Dashboards navigation panel to view it.

You can copy a dashboard belonging to another user and modify it to suit your needs. You can create your own dashboards and either keep them private (only you see them) or make them public (other users can see them and copy them). You can modify dashboards that you have created or copied from others, but you cannot modify dashboards that belong to other users.

Use the Dashboards Options menu to create a dashboard and to add content (dashboard widgets) to it. The Dashboard Options menu also enables you to copy, edit, delete, manage, print, email and export dashboards.

Some dashboard widgets have information icons. If an information icon is blue instead of gray, it means that a note is available. Hover over the information icon to display the note.

If a dashboard is not viewed for 14 days (the default inactivity threshold), data collection for the dashboard is automatically disabled to conserve system resources. The next time you view the dashboard you can enable data collection using the provided link. Any user who can view the dashboard can re-enable data collection for it. Additionally, users with Administrator permissions can enable and disable any dashboard in the system, regardless of ownership.

The inactivity period can be changed from the default value of 14 days
