Add widgets to a dashboard
You can add the following categories of information to a dashboard:
Active Directory Users - The NetProfiler can collect user identity information for reports on network users. The Active Directory Users widget lists user logins and login attempts that used a Microsoft Active domain controller. more
Network Events - Current events and unacknowledged events can be reported for user-defined; performance and availability; health and service policies. more
Network Traffic - Widgets types are available for more than 20 combinations of applications, ports, protocols, hosts, host groups, interfaces, preferred interfaces, BGP Autonomous Systems, DSCP markings and response composition. more
Services - You can monitor the performance of services that have been defined on the NetProfiler. more
WAN Optimization - traffic volumes of optimized and non-optimized WAN and LAN traffic and top network interfaces more
To add a widget, first select the category of information and then specify the type of widget within that category. Within each widget category, there may be differences in how different types of widgets are specified.
The general procedure is as follows:
Choose Add Widget from the Dashboard Options menu of the Home > Dashboards page.
Select the widget category from the drop-down list.
For all categories except the Active Directory Users category, choose the widget type from the drop-down list.
Under Visualization, choose the display format for the widget.
Fill in the fields on the Data, Time and Appearance tabs. Note that the widget is displayed using the title that is specified on the Appearances tab. The default widget name simply identifies the widget type.
Fields that do not apply or that have a fixed value are inactive (grayed out). In many cases there is a magnifying glass icon at the end of a text box. Click this icon to open a lookup tool. Select the item of interest in the search results list and click OK to enter it into the text box on the widget tab.
Click Finish to place the completed widget on the dashboard.
If necessary, use the drag & drop feature to move the widget to the location on the dashboard where you want it.
Repeat the procedure for the next widget.
