About data stores

Data stores, as they store data segments and SDR references, play a critical role in acceleration. As traffic traverses the SteelHead network, it is indexed and stored in segments, and references representing that data are stored on appliance data stores on both sides of your WAN. Segments of data that have been seen before aren’t transferred across the WAN again, only the references to them are.
