Custom Attributes
The Custom Attributes page allows you to create and associate custom attributes with devices and interfaces.

Creating a Custom Attribute
To create a custom attribute, follow these steps:
1. Log into the UI as an admin user.
2. Navigate to CONFIGURE->All Settings->Organize->Custom Attributes.
The following screen appears:
From this screen you can do the following:
– Add/Edit/Delete a custom attributes
– Delete/Export all custom attributes
– Bulk import custom attributes from a CSV file
Custom Attribute Definitions Frame
To add a custom attribute, click on the hamburger menu
in the upper left of the
Custom Attributes Definitions frame.
The following menu appears:
Select Add Custom Attribute.
The following screen appears:
Provide the following and click the Submit button when you are satisfied with your selections:
– Name
– Description
– Type (string or numeric)
– One or more object types
You can choose whether the custom attribute applies to all object types or specific object types. You can then create and edit an object’s custom attributes from any object menu, as shown in the following screen:
To edit or delete a custom attribute, select the attribute, then click on the hamburger menu
in the upper left of the
Custom Attributes Definitions frame and select the appropriate action.
Custom Attributes Values Frame
To delete all custom attribute, click on the
. icon in the
Custom Attributes Values Frame and then confirm your decision.
To export all existing custom attribute values, click on the
icon on the
Custom Attributes Values Frame, as shown in the following screen:
For scalability reasons, the Custom Attribute Values table loads only the first 1000 rows. To view and edit all the rows, export the table to CSV using the “Export All” functionality.
Import Custom Attributes Values Frame
The Import Custom Attribute Values frame allows you to bulk import a properly formatted CSV file of custom attribute settings, as shown in the following screen:

• (Delete All)
• Save
• All
• Set Delimiter

Grouping Rules support the ability to group by custom attributes. Custom attributes appear as Node Attributes for use in Grouping Rules, as shown in the following screens:
Viewing an Object’s Custom Attributes
You can view an object’s custom attributes from the Browse tab for that object. You can also choose to edit
or delete
the custom attribute from the object’s custom attribute list, as shown in the following screen:
