Standard flow records identify hosts by their IP addresses. The NetProfiler supports discovery of MAC addresses and switch port locations of individual hosts based upon their IP addresses. This enables the NetProfiler to display complete information, as shown in Figure: MAC and Host Switch Information Displayed as a Result of Switch Port Discovery. This information appears in multiple places throughout the NetProfiler UI.
