Specifying Access Control Lists
To grant other systems access to the NetProfiler APIs or Event Reports,
-
Go to the Administration > Account Management > User Accounts page and create a user account for the machine or person who you want to have access to the APIs or Event Reports. Remote systems that access NetProfiler Event Reports need only an Event Viewer account.
-
Go to the Administration > Integration > API Access page and enter the IP addresses of the machines that are to log in to NetProfiler using the account name. You can specify the addresses in CIDR notation (e.g., 10.0.0.0/8) or as a range (e.g., 10.0.0.0-10.0.0.100, with no spaces.)
-
In the User list box, select the user name that the machines should use. You defined this account name in Step 1.
-
Select the Enable ACL login system check box.
The APIs box lists available APIs and displays examples of their URLs up to the point where the report requests are specified. Report requests must be formatted as described in the API specifications.
