Devices
The Administration > Devices/Interfaces page Devices tab displays the following information about each device that is sending data to NetProfiler:
-
Status (as explained by the color legend)
-
Device IP address
-
Device Host name
-
Type of data
-
Version of the communication link software
-
Time Synchronization - Reports NTP synchronization for Flow Gateway and Sensor sources, and PTP synchronization for NetShark sources.
-
SNMP - The Edit link opens a page on which you can specify SNMP version that NetProfiler uses to get information from the device. SNMP settings made for an individual device can be set to override global settings. more
Additionally, the entry for a device that is sending NetFlow, SteelFlow Net, sFlow, or Packeteer Flow Detail Records to the NetProfiler includes a Poll link. Clicking this link causes NetProfiler to place the device at the head of the polling queue. This allows you to receive updated information about this device without waiting for its normal turn in the SNMP polling queue. Flow Gateway, AppResponse, NetShark and Sensor appliances do not have Poll links because they are in continuous communication with NetProfiler.
The Poll link is not active unless polling is enabled on the Administration > Integration > Global SNMP Settings for NetFlow Reporting Devices page, which is accessed by choosing Global SNMP Settings on the Options menu. Use this to configure the default SNMP settings that NetProfiler uses to retrieve device information from data source devices that have not been configured individually. more
Use the search feature to locate particular devices by name, IP address or address range in CIDR format. Performing a search restricts the content of the page to the specified host name, IP address or address range.
Click the Export button to export the devices list as a CSV file.
Options menu – The Options menu offers the following features:
-
Delete Silent Interfaces more
-
Export Devices – exports the list of devices in comma-separated-value text format to a file on your local system.
-
