Configuring Portal
Setting up the initial configuration
The initial configuration sets up the Portal virtual machine (VM) so that its web UI is accessible by a web browser. You perform this configuration through the Portal VM console port.
1. Power on the Portal VM. Select the Portal VM icon from the server’s list of virtual machines. Select the Getting Started tab, and then click Power on the virtual machine. The Portal VM icon in the list of virtual machines adds a green arrowhead to indicate that it is powered on.
2. Click the console button to launch the Portal VM console.
If you lose the mouse cursor while working in the console interface, you can restore it by pressing Ctrl+Alt.
3. At the login prompt, enter the default username (admin) and password (admin).
4. At the console prompt, start the initial configuration wizard by entering these commands:
localhost > enable
localhost # configure terminal
localhost (config) # wizard
5. The setup wizard guides you through the initial configuration of the appliance. Enter the required data in the fields. Press Enter at any step to accept the current setting presented in square brackets and move to the next field. Here is an example session of the setup wizard:
