Reporting packet-level information with the Packet Analyzer

If the NetProfiler is receiving traffic information from a NetShark appliance and you have Packet Analyzer installed on your local machine, then you can use Packet Analyzer to analyze packet-level information collected by the NetShark appliance. The right-click menu lists the NetShark appliances that are available for use with Packet Analyzer.

The NetProfiler automatically provides Packet Analyzer with the context for the item that you want to investigate. That is, Packet Analyzer opens with the information it needs to analyze the item that you right-clicked on report. It uses this information to obtain a packet trace from a NetShark appliance. In addition to using Packet Analyzer to analyze this information, you can export the information as a trace file.
