Dashboard permissions

The following rules apply for viewing, modifying and navigating dashboards.

• Users with Administrator and Operator accounts can create, modify and delete dashboards and follow links in dashboard content. Those with Monitor and Dashboard Viewer accounts cannot. They can only  view the Dashboard page and Monitor accounts can also create links to read-only version of dashboards for external users. Those with Event Viewer accounts cannot view the Dashboard page.

• Each dashboard is owned by the user account in which it was created. Generally, only the owner and Administrators can change a dashboard, delete a dashboard, or set a dashboard to be public, private or shared with another user. Monitor and Operator accounts can be granted permission to edit the dashboards of others (Administration >  User Accounts).

• A public dashboard can be viewed by Administrators, Operators, Monitors, and Dashboard Viewers. It can be copied and saved by Administrators and Operators, but not by Monitors and Dashboard Viewers.

• When a user account is deleted, all the dashboards the account owns are also deleted.
