Deploying Core
Core has a dashboard that, when the Core is initially deployed, provides panes that direct the administrator to key configuration tasks, making it very easy to see at a glance which deployment tasks have not yet been completed. You can add Edge appliances, failover peers, storage arrays, LUNs, and so on. Once configuration is complete, the dashboard shows activity such as cache efficiency, Edge read/write performance, status reports, and storage performance.
1. Install and connect the Core in the data center network. Include both Cores if you are deploying a high-availability solution.
2. Configure the iSCSI initiators in the Core using the iSCSI Qualified Name (IQN) format. Fibre Channel connections to the Core are also supported.
3. Enable and provision LUNs on the storage array. Make sure to include registering the Core IQN and configuring any required LUN masks.
4. Define the Edge identifiers so you can later establish connections between the Core and the corresponding Edges.
