If you want to downgrade to a previous version of the Edge software, you must downgrade to a version of the software that has previously run on your machine.

Edge appliances cannot use an encrypted data store with an earlier software version, unless the release is an update to that earlier software version.

Before downgrading to an earlier software version, you must select None as the encryption type, clear the data store, and restart the service under Optimization > Data Replication: Data Store. After you clear the data store, the data is removed from persistent storage and cannot be recovered. If you are using the server-based backups feature, you must delete all backup policies and clear snapshots on the storage array before downgrading.

To switch to the backup version, log in to the Management Console using the Administrator account (admin). Choose Administration > Maintenance: Software Upgrade and click Switch to Backup Version. Reboot the appliance or click Cancel Version Switch to cancel.
