Connecting to the Interceptor Management Console
You can connect to the Interceptor Management Console through any supported web browser.
To connect to the Interceptor Management Console, you must know the URL for the SteelHead Interceptor primary interface and the administrator password that you assigned during the initial setup of the SteelHead Interceptor.
Cookies and JavaScript must be enabled in your web browser.
To log in
1. Enter the URL for the Interceptor Management Console in the location box of your web browser.
The format of the URL is <protocol>://<ip-address | hostname>, specified as follows:
For <protocol>, specify http or https. HTTPS uses the SSL protocol to ensure a secure environment. If you use HTTPS to connect, you are prompted to inspect and verify the SSL key.
For <ip-address>, specify the IP address for the primary interface of the SteelHead Interceptor.
For <hostname>, specify the hostname of the system. Using the hostname is recommended when using the HTTPS protocol because it is the system’s common name (CN) or subject alternate name (SAN) that is recorded in the SSL certificate.
The Interceptor Management Console appears, displaying the sign-in page.
2. Specify the user login: admin, monitor, or a login from a RADIUS or TACACS+ database.
The default login is admin. Users with administrator (admin) privileges can configure and administer the SteelHead Interceptor. Users with monitor privileges can display SteelHead Interceptor reports and system logs.

The SteelHead Interceptor is shipped with this password: password.
4. Click Sign In to display the Dashboard.
