Verifying connection to the appliance
Perform this procedure to verify that you have properly connected the Edge appliance:
1. Verify that you can connect to the CLI using a computer with a Secure Shell (SSH) client that is connected to the Edge VM’s primary port.
2. At the system prompt, enter one of the following commands:
ssh admin@<host>.<domain>
or
ssh admin@<ip-address>
3. You are prompted for the administrator password. This is the password you set in the configuration wizard.
4. At the system prompt, ping from the management interface:
ping -I <primary-ip-address> <primary-default-gateway>
5. At the system prompt, ping from the in-path default gateway:
ping -I <in-path-ip-address> <in-path-default-gateway>
6. If the Edge appliance has a bypass card, confirm the PCI mapping. From the Edge CLI, enter the show hardware all command and ensure that the card is one of the cards listed below:
2 Port Copper GigE PCI-E Network Bypass Card, 410-00043-01
4 Port Copper GigE PCI-E Network Bypass Card, 410-00044-01
Two-Port SR Multimode Fiber 10 Gigabit Ethernet Card (Second Generation), 410-00302-02
7. Run the show interface command to confirm whether traffic status is Normal, Bypass, or Disconnect.
8. If the Edge appliance has one of the supported bypass cards listed in Step 6, confirm that the HW Blockable value is set to yes in the DirectPath Inpath Interface section.
