Installing a SteelHead-c on an Azure Virtual Machine
This section provides instructions for installing a SteelHead-c virtual appliance on an Azure VM.
To install using the Microsoft Azure Management portal
1. Log in to the Microsoft Azure Management portal.
2. Select New.
3. Choose Compute > Virtual Machine > From Gallery.
4. In the Choose an Image screen, choose All > Riverbed SteelHead CX.
5. Ensure the following items are configured as listed below:
• Leave the New User Name item set to its default value.
• Clear the Upload compatible SSH key for authentication check box.
• Check the box for Provide a Password.
• Enter a password.
Note: The username and password that you create in this step are not used; to log in to your virtual appliance for the first time, use the default credentials of admin and password. After initial log in, you can change your credentials at any time.
6. Click the next button (->).
8. Click the next button (->).
9. Add port 7800, 7810, 7850, 443, 80, and 22 to the list of endpoints. Leave all other items set to their default values.
10. Select the check box to finish provisioning.
11. After the virtual appliance is provisioned, add the datastore disk:
• Select Virtual Machines and select your SteelHead-c.
• Choose Attach > Attach Empty Disk and specify the size of the disk as 430 GB.
12. Configure a DNS.
14. Change the default administrator password. The password must be a minimum of six characters. The default administrator password is password.
